Last day at Berklee. My emotions are all over the place, and I’m not sure how to process them.
In the morning, I accidentally overslept and missed Theory Class. Then I went to Musicianship Class, which was our last class where everyone just chatted. We played Kahoot to practice our ear training, but my listening skills are really bad—I can’t even identify chords. I kind of have a vague feeling for them, but without something familiar to reference, I can’t get the answers right.
At noon, I had lunch and spent time with Beste, Shirdyl, a new friend, Bella, Edgar, Bella Li, Simone, and Grace.
In the afternoon, I rested a little, then had Bebop class, and then chord lab.
I had dinner with Beste, Kiki, Juliana, Shirdyl, and Vic at 7:00 PM.
Around 9:00 PM, I came back to tidy up and procrastinated a bit. I finished tidying up around 11:30 PM.
I went up to the fifth floor to find Beste, and we went up to the rooftop together. There was an amazing but also terrifying place. It was the first time I felt so scared and in danger while climbing up. We talked, hugged, and shared some intimate moments.
Afterward, we went back to the basement. I chatted with everyone in the basement, and then the music started playing, and we danced. I spent time talking, hugging, and saying a proper goodbye to everyone.
In the blink of an eye, Berklee is over… It’s truly unbelievable. From the first week, meeting everyone, feeling a bit nervous with the small talk, watching Nat quickly gather people for jams, and learning from his way of interacting with others. To the middle of the term, my chats at the caf.
When it was time to leave, I watched everyone at the party, being the first to leave. My heart ached for a moment. Seeing everyone saying goodbye to me, I felt like the luckiest person in the world. I will work hard, make money, and travel just to meet everyone again.
