Since I realized my guitar technique was stuck at a certain level, I started to search and design exercises for myself.
There are several approaches I’m going to do
Etudés.
1. Pat Matheny Etudé.
Classic guitar practice materials
2. C. Rose Etudé (Clarinet)
The reason I’m doing this is because these pieces are just beautiful. Also, I like the line of classical music, so I picked an etude series that is not guitar and tried to learn the line.
These pieces are a bit too hard for me right now, I’m going to take it slow.
Michel Brecker’s Technique. Daily Etude
Michel Brecker wrote one jazz etude per day. I also try to practice to solo on 8 bars on “Misty” today. Still figuring out how to make it into my practice routine.
Sounds and angle to my future video project.
1. Sounds for Video Projects
I watched this video a very long time ago, I might finally have a chance to experiment with some Ableton plugin to recreate similar effects.
2. Performance form that I really like.
This is the reason I’m practicing those Etudes. This kind of jazz/fusion/math rock is my future goal.
